Denbury Resources, Inc. will be providing a presentation at their office in Baker. More information to follow.

05:30 PM – Dinner
Location: Fallon County Senior Center, 420 West Montana Avenue, Baker, MT
Dinner will be prepared by Bogey BBQ and will include: brisket, bacon corn, potato salad, and roll.

09:30 AM – Ben Jones, Montana Board of Oil & Gas
Ben Jones, a petroleum engineer for nearly 17 years, brings experience from both the private and public sectors and currently serves as the administrator for the Montana Board of Oil and Gas Conservation (MBOGC), in addition to his role as a petroleum engineer and technical advisor. The MBOGC administers the Montana oil and gas conservation laws, promotes conservation and prevents waste in the recovery of resources, and regulates oil and gas exploration and production. Ben will be providing an annual update from the Board of Oil & Gas, as well as information about legislation during the session that will impact the Board. 

10:00 AM – Sonny Capece, Executive Director of the Montana Petroleum Association
Sonny Capece is the Executive Director of the Montana Petroleum Association. The Montana Petroleum Association, Inc. is an expanding non-profit, voluntary trade association, made up of more than 150 diverse members, including upstream, midstream, and downstream players. Before joining MPA, Sonny worked as the State Director for Congressman and former Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke and before that in Governor Gianforte’s Office of Economic Development and his former at-large congressional office. Sonny will be providing an overview of the associations upcoming policy initiatives as well as an overview of MPA’s legislative priorities during the recently concluded legislative session. 

11:00 AM – Alan Doane, Montana Department of Justice
Alan Doane has served as a key member of Attorney General Austin Knudsen’s staff at the Department of Justice since 2021, working predominantly as the Legislative Liaison and leading multiple agency task forces and committees. Prior to his position with the Attorney General, Mr. Doane represented the Glendive area in the Montana State House of Representatives from 2013 to 2021. Mr. Doane will be providing an overview of the Montana Department of Justice’s involvement in cases that impact natural resource development in Montana.
